I am still resting in the thought from last week’s post that the LORD Himself gives us a new heart!
But it is also thought-provoking to see the psalmist ask Him for a clean heart, a pure one that will remain loyal to GOD with a willing spirit.
This is a good reminder to me, to pray often for a pure heart, one that is not distracted or defiled, one that comes from its original Source and has not been tainted or falsely replicated, one that is 100% wholly devoted to its Maker, Savior, and Sustainer.
From a pure heart, I can rejoice in GOD my Savior and in the gracious and transforming gift of His salvation! I will delight in His purity, His holiness, and hunger for His truth that is also pure and trustworthy. My joy in these realities will overflow in praise to Him!
I pray today’s breakfast “psalm” will speak similar encouragement to someone else’s heart this morning, too: 🌿
