The “temple bells” blooming outside our front door seem like thousands of delicate tears.

This week we came face to face again with unthinkable tragedy. Lives senselessly and cruelly cut short. Our hearts ache to imagine such loss. Our minds scramble to reconcile what we cannot grasp – we eke out yet another, “why, LORD?”

I don’t know how He will direct us to respond, but I trust He will be faithful to guide us. For now, I take great comfort in knowing He will draw near to those who mourn. He will comfort, He will strengthen, He will heal.

That is who He is. Our LORD sees; He knows. He cares, aches, and grieves with us. He is the One who will carry each broken heart through this valley of shadows. 🌿
