This week I spent some time pondering the story of Jonah.  Although his circumstances were dramatically different from anything most of us will ever experience, his words of testimony echo what many of us also proclaim:

I cried out to the LORD in my great trouble and He answered me.

I called to You from the land of the dead, and LORD, You heard me.

You, O LORD my GOD, snatched me from the jaws of death!

For my salvation comes from the LORD alone.

(Jonah 2:6-9)

These are simple but powerful statements.  The reality of the GOD we trust, the repeated story of the Savior who steps in to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. 

As we enter of time of remembrance this morning, our thoughts of the Savior don’t need to be complicated, creative, or witty.  They can be incredibly simple, but powerful as they proclaim the truth we know of saving grace!

When we acknowledge who the LORD is and what He has done for us, we honor Him.  A sincere, pure response of grateful praise will deeply touch His heart.

What simple yet powerful word of thanks for the LORD JESUS rises in your heart this morning?  Let those thoughts ascend to the Father as we remember His Son today.

Thank You, LORD, for saving my soul.

Thank You, LORD, for making me whole.

Thank You, LORD, for giving to me

Thy great salvation so rich and free!
