In this autumn of a year that has felt like an eternity of struggles and disappointments and unsettling headlines, this photo caught my eye. (thank you, Longwood Gardens!)
It speaks peace to me as I imagine stepping away from it all to sit on that bench, surrounded by the splendor of GOD’s creation. Captivated by that golden glow (and hints of orange and red) mixed in with ever vibrant shades of green! I can picture a quiet walk through that garden, lost in prayer, hungering for the fresh air that His presence breathes over my weary heart.
When it all clamors too close, it is so precious to tuck away with Him, remember the GOD who created us, loves us, and writes this story we are living, from beginning to end. He knows. He cares. His purposes are right on cue.
I pray today’s breakfast “psalm” will help us to rest in His tender and capable care, to sense a fresh wave of life and hope that causes us to truly REJOICE in this season of THANKSGIVING!
