a hunger to know Him

The “nook” in our coastal New England home has become one of my favorite retreats. It is the smallest of three bedrooms, that we have turned into a cozy spot where I can read, study, write, and pour my heart into my prayer journal.

Sitting in this chair at a rejuvenated work table rescued from the basement – this is where the LORD meets me, sits with me, holds me, comforts me, and teaches me. His whispers to my heart come anytime, anywhere, but this spot feels like sacred, hallowed ground where I can truly linger in the quiet and give Him my full attention.

The more time I spend with the LORD, the more I want to know. The hunger in me grows to experience the depths of His heart as He opens my eyes to see the full reality of who He is!

He is the One who rescued me from the “basement” and works patiently and tirelessly to rejuvenate me. As I welcome Him to take a bigger and bigger place in my heart, He has greater freedom to remake me from the inside out!
