It is mid-summer, but I am already getting excited about a new study year with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). In 2 short months we will be embarking on a journey through the Gospel of John.
I often refer back to the last time I studied John with BSF. It was a favorite! The “beloved disciple” wrote a beautiful narrative account of the Lord Jesus meeting individual people in their “hard places” and impacting them with human touch and words of truth. Those personal encounters get me every time!
But one truth really grabs my attention and helps me find solid ground in my own struggles: our Lord Jesus was so steady! In the face of opposition, tension, danger, injustice, and more, He was unwavering. He was simply confident in the Father’s plan and devoted to carrying out His purposes.
This year I have the privilege of joining an amazing group of BSF ladies in New England as we pray for the LORD’s guidance and provision to grow a relatively new class in this area. There are challenges and unknowns, but it is thrilling to link hands and hearts as we invite new class members to join us in the study of John.
The mix of excitement and fears can almost overwhelm us at times, but GOD is faithful! We can simply be steady, confident in the Father’s plan and devoted to carrying out the purposes He reveals to us.
As we look ahead with prayer-filled anticipation, today’s breakfast “psalm” reminds me where our strength will come from: 🌿
